Canadian Purchasing Research Foundation

Open to Master’s and PhD students at any Canadian university who write original papers on supply chain management. The awards will honour research focused on leading-edge developments, best practices or innovation.


  • First Prize       $2000.00
  • Second Prize   $1500.00
  • Third Prize      $1000.00

Papers are to be submitted in MS Word or Adobe PDF format

Submission Deadline April 1
Content 3000 – 5000 words in length, exclusive of tables, appendices, footnotes, and bibliography.

Evaluation Criteria
  • Focuses on leading edge developments, best practices, or original innovation in the Supply Chain Management field of practice in Canada.
  • Contributes to the knowledge and practice of Supply Chain Management in Canada
  • Demonstrates readability and usefulness to SCM Practitioners

Terms and Conditions
  • Awards will be made to graduate level students submitting original papers on supply chain management subjects.
  • Papers will be evaluated by a team of practitioners who will award prizes based on the evaluation criteria.
  • Candidates submitting papers will retain full intellectual property rights to the content of the papers, however, in accepting the award, the candidate grants CPRF the right to reproduce and distribute the papers to the supply chain community in any form without further compensation to the author and to use the authors name and likeness in any subsequent media or publicity activities.
  • Any papers submitted will be subject to plagiarism detection software to ensure the paper is an original submission.
  • Unsuccessful papers will not be returned to candidates.
  • CPRF at its sole discretion, reserves the right to award or not to award any or all prizes.
  • There will be no de-briefing of unsuccessful candidates.
  • The decision of the award panel is final, and not subject to discussion or review.
