Governance
The affairs of the Canadian Purchasing Research Foundation (CPRF) are governed by an independent Board of Directors made up of volunteers drawn from the purchasing and supply professionals, and the general business and academic communities.
The Foundation was initially registered by the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) and the Board of that organization makes up voting membership of the Foundation. The PMAC Board members vote for CPRF Board and executive positions during the CPRF annual general meeting held each year.
Neither CPRF nor PMAC may speak for the other and each organization operates separately. Acceptance of funds by the Foundation is subject to the terms and conditions established exclusively by the Foundation and as agreed with the donor. The Foundation also makes its own financial commitments.
To minimize overhead and administrative expense the Foundation employs no staff but does contract with PMAC to provide some administrative support services at nominal cost.
The President of PMAC or that person’s nominee is ex officio a non-voting Foundation board member.
